Born and raised in Iceland, Jón Magnús holds a degree in economics from the University of Iceland. Since 2008, he has lived in Einarsstadir in Vopnafjörður, more precisely in the Hofsár valley, where he works as a farmer. He has been the chairman of the river association of Hofsá and Sunnudalsá and a board member since 2010. In addition, he has held various roles at Hofsá and Sunnudalsá, including guiding and managing egg planting.
Currently, Jón serves as a land and property manager for Six Rivers Iceland. In this role, he oversees the management and maintenance of the estate, including land, properties, and boundaries. With considerable experience in agriculture and maintaining agricultural land and buildings, he also fosters good relations with the locals.
